New aspirants in the field of medical transcription, generally from cities not having a professional training institute, quite often call or e-mail me with a variety of queries on medical transcription. Most are not sure if this field suits them or not. Most have acquired a desk top PC (like a living room décor) and are wondering what to do next. I request them to visit some sites, read the material, and then decide for themselves before burning money.

The aspirants are warned of not getting conned by just the price tag or/and post-training job guarantees/assurances. If you want to earn well in the future, be prepared to spend on good quality education at a training center rather than trying to learn on the job with a production unit where the training will be woefully inadequate. I have learned this the hard way.

Above all, English grammar is very important and if weak in the same, I guide them to http://www.fluentzy.com.

To start with understanding medical transcription they should visit http://www.myexperiencespeaks.com/.

Aspirants would be better off understanding theory for medical transcription from http://www.online-medical-transcription-course.com/ and http://www.medical-transcription1.com/, getting the softwares from http://avengers.4shared.com/ or http://www.4shared.com/dir/3130156/34dfa22c/Medical_Transcription.html and typing software from http://www.kiranreddys.com/index.html. Everything is free. The only part left is dictations for practice that are now available at http://avengers.4shared.com/ and some at above theory websites. You can also purchase IMT, AMT, and other dictations from learn.mt.from.home@gmail.com. For antivirus, download for free AVG 8. Lastly, but not the least, they are requested to become members of MT forums like this one and http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/askribeindia/ and read the postings.
