Hi All,
This post is for experienced people. If you are an on-job trainee (OJT) or a junior MT (< 2yrs of experience), please consider skipping this topic as the contents are not relevant to you and you need to gain FREE experience by working for whatever employer you come across! This experience will later help you in getter positions elsewhere!
For experienced HEENTs: If you're 3 yrs or above in this beautiful (yet "uglified" by some "nastified" management) field here's a way for you to avoid harmful and unsafe employers, WITHOUT EVEN setting your foot into the company's door! Just look for the following danger signs in their ad itself and avoid joining them like plague! If you do join, do so at your own peril...!
1) Any "established" company advertising positions almost every week (at least 3 out of 4 weeks a month), going down from half a page newspaper ad to classified size ad!
2) The company sometimes has to mention too many benefits, THIS much salary for THIS MANY lines done and other employee benefits. Please note, these companies are NOT ABLE to keep the good and hardworking employees they hired earlier (you know it, excessive harassment at workplace, unfriendly policies, politics, whimsical pay cuts citing quality or quantity reasons, insurmountable targets, and other 1001 reasons) and are therefore forced to speak out in open how good they are, etc.!! Just think, would you buy from a salesperson who is way too pushy?!
So do this small experiment: Take last 4 weeks' newspaper of the day when jobs are advertised (Wednesday in Bangalore Times of India, for example) and note down the names. Avoid all the companies who have their ads 3 or more times, month after month!
