Before going to degrading adjectives please try to look it another way. When I took up the MT online training course of Andhrascribe, I already had two years of in-house experience but my skills were limited to orthopedics. Andhrascribe was a second course, having earlier done a local six-month course with a production firm before starting out as an MT. Therefore, I was more interested in doing practice files in all body systems rather than the theory. For this he provided the same from an ftp site. I did a lot of practice from there on matters beyond orthopedics. Yes, there were some shortcomings like he was not able to provide me with operatives/surgery dictations and advanced medical transcription that we had agreed upon before I took his course. Practice files at his ftp were from the work he was getting and he did send feedbacks. He may not have had operatives, etc. at that time. When I took up his course in August 2007, his fees was just Rs. 3500 with a good amp and headphone + mic thrown in. Now he has improved the formula of his course. On the basis of my performance he did offer placement to me in January 2008. However, at that time I was already working for somebody else during the day. An offer is not going to wait for somebody for ever. So how can you say he cheated me? What I got from him was nearly what I wanted.
Currently, he does not have vacancies with him in his firm, but is prepared to refer me to companies to whom he gives MT work as a vendor. I am really vary of joining these small two bit companies. I have burned my fingers with other small firms that source work more than they can handle or get landed with awful dictators, and then look for HBMTs to give client-ready output at a measly rate. There are a lot of such small firms advertising at these forums or contacting postings at these forums and other forums. Work with them and soon you find there is no work for days. Work hardly lasts a couple of months and then dries up leaving HBMTs to fend elsewhere. Is this not cheating? There are plenty of others where you soon learn that you will never get paid. The feedbacks you get tell you that the patient/physician/drug name was not correct or the dosage dictated was not correct as per Quick Look. The dosage should have been changed or that dictated should have been highlighter. For such an error you earn nothing though, otherwise you may have attained 99% accuracy. A couple of months down the line they expect you to be ready to give 100% accuracy. A single blank or grammatical error and you earn nothing for that file. Leave taken without permission having been granted may result in your whole month's measly earnings disappearing. These people are worse than cheats! They destroy your hopes. In such an environment what experience or skills are you going to develop? That is why I posted here a blogsite that compared HBMTs to …..
All you people complaining against Venu, may have done his online course. He assesses your true value from the ftp files. If you are slipshod who will give you work? If he advertises his online course with job guarantee it implies that you have to do the course and ftp files well. Only then he will provide direct work or refer you to his associate companies. I have wasted my time in the last six months working for various such companies. At times I feel I am back to where I started. To be a good swimmer you need to practice for some years. Then even if you have not swum for many years, you will still be able to survive at least if thrown into a river.
What does any HBMT require? Clear and easy files to start with and NOT dictators who mumble away or have their nasal passages blocked. Worst are the female dictators. Either way they do not follow the guidelines laid down for dictations in AAMT/AHDI. And this shit that even stray dogs will pass up is fed to HBMT and that too at a rate of 60-70 paisa/line far, far lower than what they pay a salary with benefits to their in-house staff.
My above explanation is long. However, I had to explain in detail as you guys have been lambasting my postings by calling me a “chamcha,” etc. |

you wrote that venu is not having vacany. I dont think he is having any production unit. When there is no production unit, how there will be vacancy. You wrote that askribe group is good as jobs are posted. Do you know one thing? All the genuine companies who are posting job vacancies need experienced people where an askribe trainee cannot go. Some are telling that freshers can also apply, but when a candidate who got trained in askribe applies, they are telling that accuracy is not good and asking for money so that they give training and there is no guarantee that they provide work after getting trained from them. So, this is the situation of a person who got trained in askribe. He is posting files in ftp and posting feedback files. But so many people still are not aware how to compare their files with the feedback, which venu never told them. Still some trainees after one year also dont know how to use software properly. This is how the training is going on. With this type of training, do you think askribe trainee will survive in this field? |

Please verify. He has got production units in Hyd itself just doing his work. Soon work will be distributed to his past and current trainees wanting to work from home provided they clear an online evaluation and get the required pass percentage. Work is going on to appoint state-wise coordinators for online MT training and (maybe) subsequent work distribution.

You are wrong. Job posters do not care where you got training so long as you can work as MT. All take an evaluation test before recruiting. He is investing in development of software whereby his online trainees have to successfully clear an online evaluation test to get work directly from him and to be certified. For the fact his online course is prescribed in vocational government schools/colleges in Andhra.

The online training is not going to tell you how to operate a computer or use MS Office. School going kids of age 12 know how to do that. These kids know how to browse the net, communicate through e-mail and chat. They know MS WordPad, MS Word, Paint, Logo, and Quick Basic. They learn how to play the Windows media player and to even practice a musical instrument from music sheets downloaded from web along with the song script using a MIDI. Venu is not going to teach you how to solve computer faults or what computer system to acquire. Go to www.techtree.com and www.cnet.com to learn more about it. He does tell you how to compare files and gives a list of MS Word shortcuts that you should have known anyhow. He is not going to father you to acquire common sense. Use of what softwares are you talking about? He is there is to teach you medical transcription for which you should know the computer basics. He gives you links to typing software. Anyhow, computers are not for thumb suckers. Computer is a mode of learning. One should know whether one is computer savvy or not before even acquiring it. However, most homes have one. Did anybody teach you how to use a cellular phone? You must have gone through its manual to learn its features and also learnt as you went along using it. |

Pal,
Thanks for your mail and in-depth analysis. We are putting our best efforts to give good training. Your paragraph about computers is eye opening. Yes, we have production units in Hyderabad where our trainees can join.
One small correction I want to do above is not online training, it is regular training in vocational colleges with the help of IAMR.
As we appointed representatives in 15 states, some of the people started working, it is giving good results. As we are paid member of Just Dial(www.justdial.com), we are getting students from 200 cities.
We are distributing work to simplify our process and student get benefited with local support.

when people like gspal though not having work are supporting you, you need not worry about the placement of trainees and can expand your cheating business to Medical Coding, Billing etc. Go ahead. |
