Hi,

Iam a homoeopathic Doctor in India, I came to Us after my marriage along with my husband.I want to work as Medical transcriptionist as Iam aware of Medicine.If any company offers me home based medical transcriptionist work I will be thankful.

Dear Sudha:

You being a homeopathic doctor is a definite advantage for you in taking up a career in MT, but I do not know whether you know about it or not, there are several things associated with it in order to become a good MT/editor. By being a homeopathic doctor, you will be well versed in the theoretical part, but that does not alone can entitle you for being an MT...You must have good listening skills even with tough dictators and transcribing it at good accuracy levels, which is the most important thing. Apart from that typing skills, grammatical skills, and a good aptitude towards fast learning all will be an added advantage.

Moreover, apart from all these, these days most of the organizations/clinics/hospitals etc. are all looking for experienced hands.

Please do not think that i am discouraging you here, but just hinting you the qualities required for a good MT/editor.

Dear Sudha

You can start your own company in US and outsource work to India. You can approach consultant, docotors, and big MT companys over there. I can help you by doing ur work over here.

Dear Doctor,

You being a doctor are showing interest to work as MT. In my opinion a doctor working as MT is just like riding on a donkey. You better put your effort in your practice. Your profession very respectable profession. What you can do by reaping riches??
