If you concentrate on HBT, when are you going to study to be a doctor? Believe me, I am a doctor and running a medical transcription unit. It is not really worthwhile doing mt. Embarassed

I guess its high time that doctors start practicing what they have been trained to do rather than deviating away.

If doctors start doing HBT then I guess there wouldn't be anymore doctors to generate the work.

With so many MBBS students and doctors becoming members on this forums and searching for MT work, I think the Medical Council of India should include Medical Transcription training as part of the MBBS course. Similarly, Medical Billing should be included in an accountancy course and Medical Coding as part of Materials Management or engineering. That will put an end to all these humpty-dumpty online MT courses that have no agenda. I do not think an aspirant can benefit from an online course. At best a working MT can brush up his skills. With weakening of the dollar most MT companies are coming up with full-time or online MT courses to remain afloat.

Training to become a MT is 100% individual effort. At this time, an aspirant will not gain much from the MT profession. Definitely not a livelihood.
