Okay everyone,
I am here with a simple question....Would it be better to continue working as an MT or get into medical coding and billing?
Reason I am asking is that MT work is pretty dead end work in terms of payscale. Way I see it, companies/individuals expect 1000% percent accuracy at a 1000 bucks in a manner of speaking, not to mention perhaps we being taken for a ride moneywise, workwise, wisewise, agewise, otherwise, etc. etc. So to earn that extra and put in that extra work, would it be more profitable to go into medical coding and billing and expect better pay? I know this will take time, but how much time before you can see more moola? Would you say one year will show better results than dying a slow death as an MT? Or am I dreaming and that it would be better to become bitter and try to get into a mental asylum and teach the inmates how to become more insane than I am already by asking dumb questions of dumber people who read the dumbest of all dumb forums, especially that CEO of all dumbasses, medictrans? Huh, Huh, Huh?
If this manages to percolate through the things we call brains of the silent bystanders who read this avidly and twiddle their things, I mean their thumbs, then may I unreasonably expect some reasonable reply to my miserable question?
In case you all have become confused as to what this whole topic is, let me refresh your tired brain cells. The simple question is:
To continue doing MT work and earn peanuts.... or should I try to switch to billing and coding...will it pay better after a year or not? There, I cannot put it simpler than that.
Pliss answer...even if you want to encourage me to see a shrink, I do not mind...BUT HOTDAMN....ANSWER ME! YOUR PROFOUND SILENCE KILLS ME..........
O moderator, thou good man/woman/it, I have placed this where I should.... so go to the loo or drink some tea or something, but please leave this topic alone. It is bad enough that people are suffering from refrainfromanswerpnea (new medical term, copyright medictrans), but I have you to add to my worries. You are like the Queen in Alice in Wonderland....Off with his head!
Hope at least dead bodies rise up after reading this bit and answer, since humans are already dead and unable to answer to anything.
God, the things I gotta do to make dead people feel something and answer!!! |

Medical coding is better job now a days as big companies like cognizant, Infosys, appolo, Elico, Phycare, Omega etc are offering good salaries, stable job.
One problem is that no home based job, you should go to office to do job. My wife is working in cognizant as a medical coder, stable job regarding earning and working. There is no need to hear audios, but you should have good eye to catch correct codes. Judgment is most important.
You should have good grip on medical terminology if you want to become medical coder, searching skills are important. Big medical coding projects are coming to India in big companies, job is not a problem if you have good exposure eg ER, Radiology etc. _________________ To handle yourself, use your head, to handle others, use your heart
